Student groups will create a sport. Each group must create the rules and playing fields for their sports. Each group must also teach the class how to play their sport.

Use concrete and pictorial models of square units to determine the area of two-dimensional surfaces.

Students will estimate and use measurement tools to determine area.
Grade 5
Students will connect models for area with its formula and select and use appropriate units to measure area.
Grade 6
Student will select and use appropriate units, tool, or formulas to measure area.

Students will plan and conduct a scientific investigation exploring one of the principles of force and motion.

Student groups will teach how to play their created sports.
